What it is, and who it suits
You can choose which fields show when someone adds or updates an opportunity (a job card), and which are required. Conditional fields go further: a field only shows, or is only required, based on another value. The built-in example is Lost Reason, which appears under Status only when a job is marked Lost. It suits teams where cards get moved without the details you need for reporting.

Open the opportunity fields
Go to CRM > Custom Objects > Opportunities and open the tab Customize fields for add Opportunity. You'll see each field with its type and a Required tick box.
CRM› Custom Objects› OpportunitiesTick what's required
Tick Required on the fields people must fill in, such as Value and your Job type field. Use Manage fields to add fields to the form, and Preview to see what your team will see.
Add conditions where they help
Set a field to show or be required only for certain values, like a Quote value that's required only at the Quoted stage. Keep it to the few fields that matter, or people start entering rubbish to get past the form.
Save and test
Click Save, then add a test job and move it through the stages to check the right fields appear.
Every job card carries the details your reports and follow-ups need.
