How it works
A merge takes two or more records and turns them into one. You pick a master record to keep. Notes, tasks, tags and opportunities from the others are combined into it. Merges are permanent, so look closely before you confirm.
Run the duplicate scan for a big clean-up. Merge from a list when you already know which ones to join. Change the duplicate setting so it stops happening.
Scan for duplicates
Open Manage Duplicates
Go to CRM > Contacts, click the three-dot menu and choose Manage Duplicates.
CRM› Contacts› Manage DuplicatesPick what to match on
Choose email, phone or name, then run the scan. Email or phone is safest. Matching on name alone can join two different people called John Smith.
Review a group
Expand a group and click Review. Choose which values to keep for each field, and which record is the master.
Merge or reject
Click Merge to combine them. If they're different people, reject the match. Rejecting is permanent too, so they won't be suggested again.
Each customer has one record, with their full history in it.
