How it works
Preference management gives each person a page where they tick which emails they want, like offers, news or tips, rather than leaving everything. Fewer people drop off completely, and you stay on the right side of the rules.
Switch the beta on
Go to Settings > Labs and switch on Preference Management (Email Unsubscription Management).
Settings› LabstipIf you can't see it, ask revenu to switch it on for you.
Open the hub
Go to Settings > Preference Management Hub.
Settings› Preference Management HubSet up your topics
Add the kinds of email you really send. Use plain names a customer understands.
Topic 1Offers and discountsTopic 2News and updatesTopic 3Tips and adviceKeep the essentials separate
Things like booking confirmations and invoices are about work they asked for. Keep those separate from marketing topics, so marketing opt-outs don't stop them.
Test it
Send yourself a campaign email, click the unsubscribe or preferences link, change a topic and check it saved.
If someone wants to come back
Don't add someone back yourself because they unsubscribed by accident. Ask them to opt in again themselves, from a form on your website or the preferences page, so you have a record of their yes.
Reply to someone who asks to rejoinHi Sarah, happy to have you back. Please choose what you'd like to hear about here: northsideplumbing.com.au If you'd rather not, no worries at all. People can pick the emails they want, and anyone who opts out is left off your marketing sends.
