How it works
Every appointment sits in one of four core states: Pending, Active, Completed or Cancelled. Your own statuses are labels that sit under those four. 'Awaiting deposit' could sit under Pending and 'Arrived' under Active. They're for your eyes and your automations. They don't change what blocks the calendar and they don't send any notification.
Switch the beta on
Go to Settings > Labs and switch on Custom Appointment Statuses.
Settings› LabstipIf you can't see it, ask revenu to switch it on for you.
Open the status settings
Go to CRM > Calendars, open Calendar settings, then Preferences > Appointment status.

Pick the core status it belongs under and add your label. Keep names short. Save when you're done.

Open an appointment and change its status to your new label. To act on a change, like texting a customer when they hit 'Arrived', use the Appointment Status trigger in a workflow.

Your own labels show on appointments, and you can trigger a workflow when one changes.
